In a bit of a departure from my usual approach, I agreed to take on the stage direction for an already designed and built new production of Der Rosenkavalier for De Jyske Opera in Aarhus, Denmark. While it was certainly not in a style that I would have ever chosen myself, this unusual circumstance produced a show that was nominated for Denmark’s highest theater award, the Reumert prize.
